Grant Connor Mehlich began his Insurance career as a Retro-Spective Adjuster in New York and New Jersey with American International Group (AIG) in 2003.  As a Retro Spective adjuster, Grant adjusted Loss Sensitive, Paid Loss and Large Deductible Plans of Fortune 100 Companies. After a year of learning and experiencing 'core' insurance fundamentals, Mr. Mehlich was promoted and given the opportunity to implement and roll out a brand new program for AIG called Global Energy Middle Market (GEMM) Plus. GEMM Plus was designed for Manufacturing and Process Industry businesses up to $100MM in revenues. In its first year alone, GEMM Plus, exceeded and surpassed all expectations and underwrote over $20MM in new business premiums.

After the success of GEMM Plus, Grant returned to his home state of Florida and began his Insurance Brokerage career with Hilb Rogal & Hobbs (HRH), which at the time of joining, was the world's 7th largest insurance brokerage. Utilizing his underwriting knowledge, and his passion and dedication to his clients, Grant brokered over $1.97M in premiums within his first year to win the southeast regional new business award. By the time he left to start GCM Insurance & Risk Management, LLC in August of 2009, Grant was responsible for insuring over $200MM in property values throughout the State of Florida.

Grant is a graduate from The Florida State University and holds a degree in Economics and a minor in Business. He has twice been interviewed in a nationally published business magazine, supports the YMCA and is a board member of the Tampa Bay Seminole Club.
